Each year, we gather on the first Saturday in May at NYSFOP Headquarters to honor our fallen. On May 7th, 2022, we will be having a ceremony to honor our fallen brothers and sisters from 2021.
Every year we come together to remember our brothers and sisters who have made the supreme sacrifice. Since 1791, more than 22,000 heroes, across this Nation, have selflessly laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The NYS FOP Memorial Wall has enshrined upon it the names of more than 1,300 members of the NYS law enforcement community so that their names will forever be ingrained in our hearts. The names of 40 Officers from 2021 are being added to our Memorial Wall. Of the 40 Officers being honored from 2021, there were 2 LODD deaths, 13 were due to Covid-19, and 25 were due to 9/11 related illnesses.
This May the New York State Fraternal Order of Police will be honoring 80 Law Enforcement Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the citizens of NYS.
Every year we come together as a profession to remember our brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice. Since 1791, more than 22,000 heroes, across this Nation, have selflessly laid down their lives in the Line of Duty. This year, our solemn ceremony will commemorate their loss and pay special tribute to their service.
The tradition of honoring those who died in the Line of Duty will commence promptly at 11:00am on May 6th, at the 911 Empire State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, located at 911 Police Plaza, Hicksville, NY.
